GÖTTINGEN 2016
On the 9th of December of 2016 I went to Germany with my German
classmates on a student exchange programme.
First, we met at the airport with the teachers (Mònica and Lurdes) and
my German language classmates, at 11 AM approximately. Then we checked the
baggage in and we went through the security checks. When we were in the boarding
area, Lurdes and Mònica left us half an hour to do anything we wanted (buying some
food…). After this half hour, we just waited to get on the plane. Then we
showed our passport and our flying ticket to the hostess and the plane took off.
During the flight, I took some photos of the landscape.
After two hours, we arrived at Hannover airport. Then we had to take
two trains to get to Göttingen. During all the journey I was very nervous. When
we arrived, every German partner was holding a paper with a letter. When the letters
were together, we could read the word “Bienvenidos”, which means Welcome in
Spanish.
Then I went with my German partner to his house. He showed me his room,
bathroom…
After showing me the house, we had pasta for dinner and a mix of apple
juice and sparkling water to drink and we watched the film Deadpool in English.
Saturday, one of the best days for me. That day I met with Àngel and Philip (Àngel’s
partner), Nil and Nils (Nil’s partner) and me and Florian (my partner) and we
went to the Christmas market. We went to a Ferris wheel and a carousel. It’s
strange but we had lunch at 4 o’clock, almost supper time for my partner! We had
lunch at a restaurant called Vapiano. This restaurant is curious because you
have a magnetic card where they store information on anything that you order and
you have to give that card to the waitress when you want to pay for your meal.
This restaurant only has Italian food, like pasta, pizza or calzone. After lunch,
we went to the playground of the young boys’ school, because it wasn’t closed.
In the playground, there were seesaws and a structure that you could climb. We
had a lot of fun.
Sunday was a funny day too, but not like Saturday, it was a rainy day. That
day I met with more people. In the morning, I met with Àngel, Laura, Nil, Estel
and Anna and their partners, we went to bowling alley. After bowling I had
lunch at home, my partner and I played computer games. Later, we took the bus
to watch the girls’ basketball team of Göttingen. At the basketball court,
Laura, Anna, Estel, their partners and Florian’s friends were waiting for us.
At the half part of the match, we went to another part of the basketball court
which was not being used. The lights were off and it was very dark. We played
with a ball, passing it, and it was very funny because you did not know where
it was.
Monday, the first day of school. I woke up at 6:30 A.M. I was very tired, but
also nervous. We did the first classes and then we did a tour of the centre of Göttingen.
At the street I had to wear a jacket and a hat because it was very cold! Later
we went back to the school and we had lunch. After lunch, we had to do a project
about a subject that the teachers selected. I had to do a research about Felix
Klein. In the evening, I went to the Christmas market with Nil and Nils and my
partner Florian.
Tuesday, a different routine. We went to Wolfsburg, to the Phaeno’s museum. There
were scientific experiments and funny things. There was one experiment in which
a person had to put his/her hand on a “little iceberg” and hold the hand there
as much time as possible. I kept my hand there a lot of time with Martí. We had
a good time there! Later, we went to a restaurant at the museum to have lunch.
I ate a “Diavolo pizza”. It was a spicy pizza, I like spicy food. After eating,
we went to an outlet, there were lots of brands, like Adidas, Nike, Superdry, Ralph
Lauren… At the outlet, I bought a t-shirt for my brother.
Wednesday, Grimm’s workshop. We went to school and also to a workshop about Grimm
brothers. It was interesting. We ate at the canteen and we finished the
project. In the evening, we went to the Christmas market to buy things for the
family.
Thursday, also a good day.
We went to school like a normal day, and after school, we went to an
amazing swimming pool. It had two Jacuzzis, two water toboggans, one trampoline,
two normal swimming pools and one outdoor pool. When we left
the swimming pools, I ate a hamburger and a slush of strawberry and then we
went at home to take a shower. After that, we went back to school to celebrate
a party.
Friday, the last day! We went to school early in the morning and then we went to
the train station at Göttingen. It was time of say goodbye to the families and
the partners.
SEE YOU SOON IN BARCELONA!
